4 reviews for Aspire Triton 2 Tank

  1. @m

My first real tank was an aspire Nautilus 5ml. Great flavour, super throat hit easy to use and absolutely top notch engineering. The tank screams quality. I can’t see how this tank would not last forever in careful hands. I wanted to upgrade and waited for the Triton2.

I like low wattage 11-13 watts on a cool-fire 4 and 1.8ohm aspire coils, and I find an amazingly strong, tasty throat hit as with all 12mg 50/50vg, with strong flavours on both aspire tanks. The flavour is fantastic and I can’t see past aspire with flavour, throat hit and the build quality. Seriously I have not had a dud coil yet. Hope I’ve not cursed myself!

So the Triton2 — Well the same old aspire tank engineering, again screaming top quality. It’s made only of surgical steel, Pyrex glass, silicon seals and an o-ring on the drip tip. Definitely more robust/solid than the nautilus. The top fill is soooo easy and that pushes the Triton2 into first place on its own. You don’t even need to remove the mod.

You just unscrew the top drip system off. Turn to top ring to the drip logo, which opens up the filling ports and that’s it! It’s ready to fill instantly.

You then just fill it up from the bottle/dropper through the ports. No mess. No risk of filling the coil because when the upper filling ports open the lower ports close in the same motion. The lower ports allow for the juice to wick the coil. Also it’s all screwed together so the coil is not in a position for juice to leak into it. Then turn the upper ring back to the vape logo and screw the drip system top back in, with or without removing the drip tip. Then vape away. I love it’s ease of use. It’s very very good. Have a look on the aspire website and they have some good pictures showing this.

Ken in the first Triton2 review on here didn’t like the wide bore drip tip. The wide bore drip tip just pulls out and has a really good o-ring seal. For a replacement there are hundreds of 510 fitting drip tips available on the net that just push in so you can find your perfect lip fit that suits you out there.

Dom sells some upgrade (huracan) drip tips and I think they are wide bore. Ask him maybe he will get a range in that are 510 fitting. I did buy some rainbow (the colour of the steel) stainless steel narrow and short 510 drip tips and I really enjoyed them as they were closer to the nautilus drip tip and felt really comfortable in between my lips. Definitely more comfy at first and similar to smoking fags. My two vape mates prefer the slimmer tips. The nautilus drip tip is 510 fitting so it just swaps over. It does make a nice change but I’m convinced that the wider bore produces a better and increased flavour. But we are all different. If you don’t have a wide bore drip tip get one from here and try. I now prefer the wide bore and have got used to the different lip/mouth position and find that I get better control in slowing the draw/pull down to get huge throat hits with an abundance of flavour and vapour cloud. But each to their own.

The airflow gap ring at the bottom of the tank is hugely improved compared to the Nautilus. The Nautilus only has four different settings. The Triton2 has an larger airflow and can be reduced to less than the smallest hole on the Nautilus, providing a larger range and more accurate adjustment to suit the juice, flavour, cloud and throat hit. It’s not loose and stays where it’s put. It doesn’t moves easily but is stiff enough to stay in place (again it’s well engineered). The only time I move it by accident is when I’m screwing the tank into the mod. But that is to be expected if you want to have such a large adjustment range but with the ability to move the ring without wearing your fingers away!

I find the Triton2 a huge improvement on the Nautilus and if any other make of tank can provide the flavour, throat hit and quality at low watt 1.8ohm vapes then please tell me. I find the ONLY downside of the is its size of tank at 3ml capacity compared to the 5ml of the Nautilus. I just don’t notice this and to be honest I do chain vape. The Nautilus just goes on forever! But I don’t see this as a downside as the positives far outweigh the one downside. If a 5ml Triton2 appears it’s mine.

I am going to do a direct flavour comparison between the Nautilus and the Triton2, both with new coils (1.8ohm) and with fresh, newly found Black Note Sonata juice. I will add a second review with the results, don’t worry it will be a lot shorter.

I’m not into sub-ohm. But I expect the Triton2 tank is plenty enough capable as the coils are available by aspire and on sale here. The reason being I tried and didn’t like it. But I must say I can not really comment as I have put very, very little effort into trying more than a few times. But I have seen that you will use far more juice with increased temp and cloud production. Maybe one day. Low wattage works for me so I don’t need to change. I prefer mouth to lung Vaping also.

I don’t know Dom or work for Vapour.uk but I’ve just found him super helpful with any query and he’s always given me advice when I’ve asked. He has always provided astounding customer service, which I very rarely found these days and the reason I refuse to use Amazon/eBay anymore and support smaller in touch companies who go out of their way to help.

  3. Ken

I own the original Triton and was impressed with that. This Version 2 is a big improvement. The adjustable airflow on the heatsink, which seemed totally useless in my opinion, has gone to be replaced with a unscrewable heatfin section which reveals the filling ports. This is a little more tricky than the original but makes this tank more compact and better looking. The steel cage around the glass has also gone meaning that cleaning/replacement is simple. The vape quality is probably no different from the original as far as I can tell, but I am only using the 1.8 ohm kanthal coils as I’m not into sub-ohming. This is definitely the best tank I’ve had for along time. Top filling, great airflow adjustment and very good coils. The only down side is that the drip tip is too wide-bore for my type of vaping , but that’s just personal choice and easily rectified. I can recommend this product whole heartedly.
