For history buffs 1837 is a significant date. It’s the year Queen Victoria was crowned, launching Britain on the path to being the first superpower since ancient Rome. Then there were some wars in Canada – yes, Canada. We won, for the record. Charles Darwin gave his first speech to the Geological Society, and Michigan became the 26th state of the USA. This all formed an interesting backdrop to the real triumph of the year – Alfred Bird’s invention of instant custard.

1837 is a custard flavour with a difference. Other custard liquids compete to mimic the gourmet sort you’d get in an expensive restaurant. 1837 captures the custard most of us actually eat. Sweet, creamy and deliciously nostalgic, this is a uniquely British treat for any custard fan.

Dispatch and Delivery Info

All orders placed before 3pm Monday-Friday (excluding Bank holidays) will aim to be dispatched the same day. Any orders placed after 3pm Friday will be dispatched the next working day (Monday).

Please make sure you have inputted the correct address details as amendments cannot be made once the order is being processed or has been dispatched.

Tracked orders require a signature for delivery. If you are not in to sign for your item when delivery is attempted, you will receive a ‘sorry you were not in’ card and will need to arrange a re-delivery or collect the item from your local collection office.
